[Notebooks]. 1885-1937.

Contains 8 volumes belonging to Kirk Verity including: a worsted weaving pattern book, 1885; a lecture notebook, 1887, covering stitching cloth, finishing, carding, condensing and links for looms, Jacquard calculations, spinning, combing and names of parts of machines; and a design notebook, 1890, with designs for textiles and drafts in color. Also includes two notebooks of weaving patterns, 1891; a color notebook, 1894, with a few drafts in color; a daybook, 1883, of Prof. J.W. Smith's on dyeing, with notes, recipes, one cloth sample (swatch), and drafts; and a notebook of worsted notes, 1904-1905. The volumes were also used in connection with a family mill in Yorkshire. Also includes a folder of drafts and blank forms from the Victoria Mill, Bramley, to Kirk Verity. Collection also includes a notebook, 1937, belonging to Joseph K. Verity, of weave formation notes, with cloth samples (swatches) and drafts in color.
